Cedar Doors is a British manufacturer specialising in timber, and timber is still the right answer for a certain kind of house. On a period property, or anywhere the garage sits in full view of the front elevation, a well made wooden door looks like part of the building in a way a steel one never quite does.
Western red cedar is the usual choice because it is naturally durable and stable, and it takes a stain or an oil finish beautifully. It does need attention every few years, and we would rather say so upfront than have you find out later.
