Garage Doors in Hadley Wood

Automation, Supply, Fitting & Repairs

Hadley Wood is the closest thing we have to a second home town. It is a few minutes down the road, we have worked on a great many of its garages over four decades, and when something goes wrong with a door there we can usually be looking at it the same day or the next.

The houses are large, the plots are generous, and most of them have two or three garage doors rather than one. That changes the job. A door on a wide, gated driveway is used many times a day, it is expected to work every time, and when it does not the owner wants it sorted, not explained.

Local Knowledge

Double and triple garages on private roads

Much of Hadley Wood was built between the wars and rebuilt or extended since, with the private roads around Camlet Way, Beech Hill and the Crescents carrying some of the largest houses in the area. Integral double garages are the norm, and the doors on them are nearly always automated already. Our work here is as much servicing and repair as it is new doors: keeping a pair of ten year old sectionals running quietly, replacing an operator that has worn out, pairing new handsets when a car changes.

Where a new door is wanted, it is usually because the house has been remodelled and the old doors no longer suit it. Hormann's insulated sectional doors in a dark colour or a timber effect finish are the most common choice, often with the Supramatic operator for its speed on a wide door. For the older houses, and for anyone who wants real timber, Cedar Doors make solid doors to size that look right on a period frontage.

Three doors on one drive means three sets of springs, cables and rollers, and a service once a year is the difference between doors that simply work and a Saturday morning with a car stuck inside. We service all three in one visit, whoever fitted them.
