The original Metroland houses of the 1920s and 30s were built for cars a good deal smaller than today's, and their garages have narrow openings, sometimes under seven feet. A standard stock door will not fit. We measure and order made to measure, and it is worth knowing that a sectional door gives you the full width of the opening to drive through, where an up and over loses a few inches to its frame on each side.
On Moor Park and the newer houses the garages are wide, integral and often under a bedroom, so insulation and quietness matter. An insulated Hormann sectional with a belt drive Supramatic operator is close to silent, and it keeps the room above warmer. These are the doors we fit most here.
Older automatic doors in Northwood are often on operators whose makers have gone. If yours is one, we can usually tell you on the phone whether it is repairable, and if not, a new Hormann Promatic on the existing door is a fraction of the cost of replacing the lot.
